Pursuant to the authority of § 15.2-922.1 of the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, the Mathews County Board of Supervisors hereby adopts the following chapter regulating the making of fires.
The Board of Supervisors is authorized to regulate the making of fires in streets, alleys, and public places, and when a declared emergency or local emergency exists, the Board of Supervisors is also authorized to regulate the making of fires on private property. The making of fires in streets, alleys, and public places and upon private property shall be prohibited when authorized by resolution of the Board of Supervisors of Mathews County and when declared by the Director of Emergency Management of said County and for the term set out in said resolution.
A violation of any prohibition created under this chapter shall be punishable as a Class 4 misdemeanor with a maximum fine of $250.
