No unauthorized person(s) shall uncover, make any connection
with or opening into, or use, alter or disturb any public water supply
main or appurtenances thereof without first obtaining a written permit
from the Township Water Superintendent.
All costs and expenses incidental to the installation and connection
of a building structure or use to a public water supply main shall
be borne by the owner(s) of such building, structure or use. The owner(s)
shall indemnify the Township from any loss or damage that may directly
or indirectly be occasioned by the installation of the building or
use connection to the public water supply main.
A separate and independent water service shall be provided for
every building, except where one building stands at the rear of another
on an interior lot and no water service is available or can be constructed
from the public water main to the building through an adjacent alley,
court, yard or driveway. In such cases, the front building water service
may be extended to the rear building and the whole considered as one
water service. In such cases, the Township does not and will not assume
any obligation or responsibility for damage caused by or resulting
from any such single connection.
