Whenever any words and phrases are used in this chapter, the
meaning respectively ascribed to them in Subtitle I of Title 39 of
the New Jersey Statutes Annotated shall be deemed to apply to such
words and phrases used herein.
All former traffic ordinances of the City of Atlantic City are
hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect or prevent
the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or committed
in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking
effect of this chapter.

Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statute,
every person convicted of a violation of a provision of this chapter,
or any supplement thereto, shall be liable for a fine of not more
than $54 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or both.
Said fine, plus costs of up to $22, may be payable without court appearance
in accordance with the Local Supplemental Violations Bureau Schedule
promulgated pursuant to New Jersey Court Rule R:7:12-4. Fines for
violations of the following Code sections shall be as follows:
