Floor drains are prohibited in any building or structure used for an industrial, commercial or other nonresidential purpose, except as provided in this Bylaw.
A.
A floor drain in such a building or structure shall only be permitted if it is connected to the public sewer system with the prior approval of the Plumbing Inspector or his or her designee.
B.
A person shall make application to the Plumbing Inspector or his or her designee for a floor drain connection permit, providing such information as may be required. C.
The installation of each floor drain and/or its connection to the public sewer system shall be performed only by a licensed plumber in full compliance with applicable federal and state statutes and regulations and any conditions contained in the floor drain connection permit; all work shall be performed under the supervision of the Plumbing Inspector or his or her designee, who shall note his or her final approval on the permit upon the completion of the connection.
Whoever violates this Bylaw shall be liable to pay a fine of $300; each day that the violation continues shall constitute a separate offense. This Bylaw may be enforced against each owner, tenant and person in possession of property to which the Bylaw applies.
