A. 
Any person who operates a Township-owned motor vehicle where the vehicle is under the control of the Township's Department of Public Works, a fire department or rescue squad of the Township of Stillwater (collectively referred to as "Township department"), shall possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of three years, be at least 21 years of age, have successfully completed the required driver training required by such Township department, and not have their driving privileges revoked or restricted by a Township department.
B. 
Notwithstanding § 275-1A, for Township-owned motor vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 20,000 pounds gross weight or less that is under the control of a Township department, a person may operate such vehicle if they possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of two years, are at least 19 years of age, have successfully completed the required driver training required by such Township department, and their driving privileges have not been revoked or restricted by a Township department.
C. 
Notwithstanding § 275-1A and B, the Township Committee shall have the authority to request and receive written approval from the Township’s Risk Manager to allow an employee that does not meet the age or driver’s license time requirements of § 275-1A or B to operate Township-owned motor vehicles under the control of a Township department, where that employee has significant experience that demonstrates that they are qualified to operate said vehicles. Any such employee must still successfully complete the required driver training required by such Township department and must not have their driving privileges revoked or restricted by any Township department.

D. 
No person who has been convicted of driving while intoxicated, or under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, reckless driving or who has accumulated more than 10 points as assessed by the New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles shall be permitted to drive any Township-owned motor vehicle for a period of three years from such infraction (in the event of a conviction of one of the driving violations listed above, the time shall run from the date of conviction).
The head of the Department of Public Works, any Fire Chief or a Captain of the Rescue Squad shall have a right to suspend any person's right to operate Township-owned motor vehicles if he/she determines that said person is unfit to drive for any reason, including that such person may have operated a Township-owned motor vehicle in a careless manner. The period of suspension shall rest with such officer.
