In their interpretation and application, the provisions of this Chapter shall be held to be minimum requirements adopted for the promotion of public health, morals, safety or the general welfare. Whenever the requirements of this Chapter are at variance with the requirements of any other lawfully adopted rules, regulations or ordinances, the most restrictive, or that imposing the higher standards, shall govern.

A. 
Readoption And Reaffirmation Of Zoning Code And Ordinances. For the purpose of promoting health, safety, morals and the general welfare of the City of Canton, Missouri, the Zoning Code of the City of Canton as contained in this Chapter 405 of the City Code together with the zoning map of the City of Canton and Article XIII, Special Use Exceptions and Requirements, together with all amendments to the Zoning Code adopted by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Canton since October 27, 1967, to and including the effective date of this Section, November 20, 1995, and all zoning ordinances adopted by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Canton, Missouri, are hereby readopted, reaffirmed, ratified and confirmed.
B. 
Zoning Code And Zoning Ordinances Declared To Be In Continuing Effect. Notwithstanding the adoption of this Section readopting and reaffirming the Zoning Code and zoning ordinances of the City of Canton as contained in this Chapter 405 of the City Code and all other zoning ordinances adopted by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Canton, it is hereby declared to be the intent of the Board of Aldermen that the Zoning Code and zoning ordinances of the City of Canton previously adopted by the Board of Aldermen on October 27, 1967, and all ordinances and amendments adopted subsequent to that date to the effective date of this Section have been in full force and effect and fully enforceable by the City of Canton, Missouri, during all of that period of time.
