A. 
Director Of Public Works To Be Appointed. The Mayor shall, with the advice and consent of the Board of Aldermen, appoint a Director of Public Works who shall hold office until his/her successor is appointed and qualified.
B. 
Duties. It shall be the duty of the Director of Public Works to oversee and to keep in repair all mains and hydrants of the waterworks systems; to see that all leaks and disorders are repaired as soon as discovered; to inspect plumbing, fixtures and meters on the premises of consumers when he/she has cause to believe the same defective, and to take proper steps to have defects corrected; to inspect meters upon proper application of consumers and supervise tappings.

Water Superintendent To Be Appointed. The Mayor shall, with the advice and consent of the Board of Aldermen, appoint a Superintendent of Waterworks who shall hold his/her office until his/her successor is appointed and qualified.
B. 
Duties. It shall be the duty of the Water Superintendent to attend to the pumping and filtration of water; to oversee and to keep in repair all machinery and reservoirs of the waterworks systems; to see that none but pure and clean water is pumped into the mains of the City; to oversee the property of the City on which the waterworks system is situated and to enforce such rules and regulations as the Board of Aldermen may provide in regard to the same; and to take such steps as possible to enforce the rules and regulations provided for the use and the consumption of water.
