A. 
The Mayor with the approval of the Board of Aldermen may appoint a registered engineer to serve in the capacity of City Engineer.
B. 
The duties of the City Engineer shall be generally to review all plans for building applications and to consult with and generally advise the Board of Aldermen and the Building Commissioner regarding any matters requiring engineering knowledge or decisions of an engineering nature. If the Mayor so requests, with the approval of the Board of Aldermen, an appointment to the office of City Engineer may also serve as the Building Commissioner to serve for a term pursuant to Section 110.040.
C. 
The City Engineer shall make a monthly report to the Board of Aldermen setting forth what matters had been reviewed or considered during the previous month.
