Pursuant to C.G.S. § 7-148 and Section 5-7 of the Town Charter the Town of Burlington hereby creates a Recreation Commission to establish recreational facilities and recreational programs for the residents of the Town of Burlington. This Commission shall be known as the "Burlington Parks and Recreation Commission."
The Commission shall elect a Chairperson from among its own members at the first meeting and annually thereafter at the first meeting held after the first day of July in each year. The Commission shall appoint a Secretary who shall keep a complete record of the proceedings of the Commission and shall file the same with the Town Clerk. All such records shall be open for public inspection at reasonable hours. Meetings of the Commission may be called by the Chairperson or any two members upon 24 hours' notice thereof. A majority of the members of the Commission shall constitute a quorum and the vote of a majority of such members shall be necessary for any action taken by the Commission.
