Editor's Note: This ordinance also repealed former Art. III,
Deputy Clerk-Treasurer, adopted by Charter ordinance as Sec. 2-3-3
of the 1995 Code.
A.
Pursuant to Wis. Stats. §§ 61.195 and 61.197(1)(b),
Wis. Stats., the Village hereby elects not to be governed by § 61.19,
Wis. Stats., and instead elects to select the Village Treasurer by
appointment by the Village President subject to confirmation by the
Village Board.
B.
The appointed Village Treasurer shall hold office for an indefinite
term, subject to removal as provided by Wis. St §§ 17.13(1)
or 17.13(3), Wis. Stats.
The Village Treasurer shall perform the duties required of a
municipal treasurer as set forth by Wisconsin Statutes, by this Code,
and as the Village Board may lawfully direct.
The Village Board may from time to time appoint a Deputy Village
Treasurer to perform the duties of the Village Treasurer under the
supervision of, or during the temporary absence or disability of,
the Village Treasurer. The acts of a Deputy Village Treasurer are
to be covered by an official bond as the Village Board shall direct.
