The City Collector shall be an at-will employee of the City of Lake Ozark. The City Collector shall be at least twenty-five (25) years of age at the time he/she takes office and shall have such other qualifications as the Board of Aldermen may require by ordinance or resolution. The duties of the City Collector shall include all duties within his/her authority as may be prescribed of him/her by the Board of Aldermen in this Code and other ordinances or resolutions.

The City Collector shall receive as compensation for his/her services such sum as may, from time to time, be fixed by ordinance. Such time shall generally be from fiscal year to fiscal year in accordance with the City Budget.

Every person who shall hold the office of Collector of the City of Lake Ozark, Missouri, shall, before entering upon the discharge of the duties of such office, give bond to the City in the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00), conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of such office and the paying over of all monies belonging to said City, which may come into his/her hands, in the manner provided by law. Such bond may be a surety bond, issued by some responsible firm regularly engaging in such business, or one bearing the undertaking of no less than two (2) individual sureties satisfactory to the Board of Aldermen.

Every check, draft or other negotiable instrument of any type which is drawn in favor of the City of Lake Ozark, Missouri, may be negotiated only by including in the endorsement thereof on behalf of the City the phrase "For Deposit Only" or some similar statement, and the actual deposit thereof to the credit of said City in a depository designated for receipt of the funds to said City. No such instrument shall be negotiated for cash.
