As used in this Part, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
AIR RIFLE
Any air gun, air pistol, spring gun, spring pistol, BB gun, or any gas-powered pistol or gun, or any implement that is not a firearm which impels a pellet of any kind.
FIREARMS
Any pistol or revolver with a barrel less than 12 inches, any shotgun with a barrel less than 24 inches, or any rifle with a barrel less than 15 inches.
PROJECTILE
Arrows, paintballs, marbles, ball bearings, rocks, stones or any object shot or fired in such a way to cause harm or damage, however minor, to persons or property.

RIFLE
Those rifles not covered under the definition of a firearm, whose barrels are greater than 15 inches.
SHOTGUN
Those shotguns not covered under the definition of a firearm, whose barrels are greater than 24 inches.

No person shall discharge any firearm, rifle, shotgun, air rifle or cause any projectile to be shot or fired from, onto, or across any street or public land or any public place, except on a properly constructed target range.

Any person who shall violate or fail to comply with any provision of this Part shall, severally for each and every such violation or noncompliance, be guilty of a summary offense, punishable by a fine of not less than $25 or more than $1,000, and costs, or, in default of payment thereof, shall be subject to imprisonment for a term not to exceed 30 days. The imposition of a penalty for any violation or noncompliance shall not excuse the violation or noncompliance or permit it to continue. Each day that the violation or noncompliance exists shall constitute a separate offense.
