a. 
All swimming pools and tanks shall be properly equipped with filtering or clarifying devices so that the water shall be continuously filtered and kept in a safe and sanitary condition. Locker rooms, shower rooms and toilets shall be always kept in a sanitary condition.
b. 
All recreational bathing facilities must adhere to all regulations set forth in Chapter 9 of the State Sanitary Code, N.J.A.C. 8:26-1 et seq., and any amendments thereto.
c. 
All public recreational bathing facilities must have a trained pool operator who shall have completed a pool operator course and shall have certification from a Department of Health and Senior Services approved organization.

No swimming pool or tank shall be constructed in the Town prior to the submission of proper plans to the Division of Health and Building Department which, upon approval of the plans, shall issue the necessary permit required.

a. 
Samples. Public swimming pool operators shall have pool water samples analyzed by a laboratory approved by the Division of Health, unless otherwise directed by the Health Officer. Reports of all analyses shall be forwarded to the Division of Health within 48 hours after completion. Samples shall be taken at least weekly at both ends of the pool during a period of heavy bathing load. All samples of swimming pool water shall be collected in bottles containing sodium thiosulfate.
b. 
General bacterial quality standards, chemical quality standards and physical quality standards. This code adopts by reference the water quality standards for swimming pools, spas and hot tubs set forth in N.J.A.C. 8:26-7.1 et seq. and any amendments thereto.

Whenever any swimming pool, by reason of mechanical defects, lack of proper supervision or failure to comply with the requirements of this code, is a hazard to public health, the Health Officer, or his designee, is authorized to order such pool to be immediately closed until no further hazard to public health exists.
