There shall be an officer of the City titled the City physician,
who shall be appointed by the City Manager.

(a) The City physician shall:
(1) Be responsible for the medical care of the indigent sick who are
under the care or at the charge of the City, whenever so required
by the City Manager.
(2) Attend injured and sick offenders when confined in the police station,
at the request of the Chief of Police.
(3) Vaccinate all scholars of the public schools that may be sent to
him by the school superintendent or by the health officer for that
purpose.
(4) Perform such other professional services as may reasonably be required
of him by the City Manager.
(5) Keep a record of all cases of diseases or death which may occur among
the patients under his care, and make reports in such form and manner
and at such times as the City Manager may require.
