(a) 
This chapter has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Maine Revised Statutes Amended, Title 30-A, §§ 4401-4407, and all amendments thereto.
(b) 
This chapter shall be known and may be cited as "Chapter 18, Subdivisions."

(a) 
The Planning Board of the City of Old Town, as defined under Chapter 13 of the City of Old Town Code of Ordinances, hereinafter called the "Board," shall administer this chapter. A majority vote of the Board is required for the passage or denial of any motion before the Board.
(b) 
The provisions of this chapter shall pertain to all land within the boundaries of the City of Old Town, Maine.

(a) 
This chapter may from time to time be amended, supplemented or repealed in accordance with the provisions of the Revised Statutes of Maine, as amended.
(b) 
Amendments may be initiated by a majority vote of the Planning Board, by request of the City Council to the Planning Board, or on petition of 10% of the votes cast in the last gubernatorial election in the City.
(c) 
Proposed amendments shall be acted upon in the following manner:
(1) 
Proposed amendments shall be submitted to the Planning Board for its consideration. The Planning Board shall hold a public hearing and advertise the nature, date, time and place of the hearing not less than seven days prior to the date of the hearing in a newspaper of general circulation throughout the City.
(2) 
Prior to the City Council meeting at which the proposed amendment is to be acted upon, the Planning Board shall submit its official report.
