A. 
The Town Solicitor shall be responsible for advising the Council, its committees, and the Chief Administrative Officer upon all legal questions arising in the conduct of municipal business. The Solicitor's interactions and communications with department supervisors shall be coordinated through the Town Manager's office.
B. 
The duties of the solicitor in addition to those specified in Article Five, Section 3, of the Charter shall be to:
(1) 
Attend all Council meetings;
(2) 
Litigate all legal actions and claims brought by or against the Town except in those cases in which outside legal counsel is retained; and
(3) 
Advise Council and the Chief Administrative Officer concerning state legislative enactments or judicial decisions which may necessitate the review and amendment of the Greenville Home Rule Charter and/or the Administrative Code or Administrative Manual and related policies and procedures.
