The Town of Wilson shares an Assessor with multiple assessing units
within the County of Niagara. Due to time constraints, the Assessor
is not able to attend each assessing unit's Board of Assessment
Review, as required by law. Real Property Tax Law permits assessing
units with shared assessors to change the day for the Board of Assessment
Review to hear grievances concerning assessments.
The Town of Wilson is passing this article to change, and does hereby
change, the Town's grievance day to the first Wednesday after
the fourth Tuesday in May of each calendar year. Property owners wishing
to challenge their real property assessment shall be able to file
their grievance on said day with the Town of Wilson Board of Assessment
Review pursuant to Real Property Tax Law.
This article shall take effect immediately upon adoption by
the Town Board of the Town of Wilson and filing with the Secretary
of State.
