There is hereby established a Council on Aging for the purpose
of coordinating and carrying out programs designed to meet the problems
of the aging in coordination with programs of the department of elder
affairs, pursuant to G.L. c. 40, sec. 8B.
Said Council shall consist of up to nine residents, appointed
by the Select Board, each for a term of three years on a staggered
basis so that three such members’ terms expire each year. The
Council on Aging shall annually choose a chairman and other such officers
as it deems appropriate.
The Council may adopt regulations from time to time in order
to carry out the purpose of this chapter and which are not inconsistent
herewith.
