Any newly constructed or reconstructed residential driveways in the City of Jonesburg are required to meet the following design criteria. Driveways exceeding one hundred fifty (150) feet in length will be exempt from these criteria.

A. 
A maximum of one (1) driveway shall be permitted for each parcel less than two (2) acres unless otherwise approved by the Building Inspector.
B. 
Driveway widths shall be constrained to a minimum of twelve (12) feet wide and a maximum of twenty-four (24) feet wide within the roadway right-of-way, not including taper.
C. 
Driveway widths shall add a taper increasing their width of a minimum of three (3) feet wide and a maximum of six (6) feet wide at each side within the roadway right-of-way.
D. 
The driveway width shall remain within the limits of side lot lines extended through the right-of-way to the adjacent roadway.
E. 
Driveway orientation shall intersect with roadways at an angle ±30° of 90° within the right-of-way.
F. 
No driveway shall be located within fifty (50) feet of a roadway intersection.
G. 
No driveway, including tapers, shall be located within five (5) feet of a side property line unless a shared driveway access scenario is approved.
H. 
Driveway paving within the roadway right-of-way shall be limited to cast-in-place concrete or asphalt construction. Unit pavers are not an acceptable paving type in this area. All portions of residential driveways to be of hard-surface construction.

A. 
Asphaltic driveway surfaces to consist of a minimum two (2) inch asphalt pavement over four (4) inch of Class-II aggregate based compacted to ninety-five percent (95%) relative density.
B. 
Any required structural earth fill shall be emplaced to ninety percent (90%) relative in lifts no greater than eighteen (18) inches in thickness.
C. 
Portion of driveway slab between roadway curb and public sidewalks to be slope for positive drainage. Slope to be between a 1:50 and a 1:25 ratio.
D. 
Portion of driveway slab in-line with intersecting public sidewalk paving to be of concrete construction and sloped for positive drainage towards roadway and not exceed a 1:50 ratio. This slab thickness to be six (6) inches minimum.
E. 
A one (1) inch wide, full-depth expansion joint is required between the driveway and intersecting public sidewalk paving.
F. 
Portion of driveway above slab portions in-line with intersecting public sidewalk paving to be sloped for positive drainage towards roadway and not exceed a 3:20 ratio, i.e., fifteen percent (15%) slope. End of slab to be flush with garage floor slab.
G. 
Allowed deviations from these criteria must be approved by the Building Inspector.

Concrete driveway surfaces to consist of a minimum six (6) inch concrete pavement over four (4) inch of Class-II aggregate based compacted to ninety-five percent (95%) relative density.
B.

C. 
A two (2) inch wide, full-depth expansion joint is required between roadway curb-to- driveway condition.
D. 
Portion of driveway slab between roadway curb and public sidewalks to be sloped for positive drainage towards roadway and not exceed a 1:25 ratio.
E. 
Portion of driveway slab in-line with intersecting public sidewalk paving to be sloped for positive drainage towards roadway and not exceed a 1:50 ratio. This slab thickness to match adjacent slab thickness (typically six (6) inches).
F. 
A one (1) inch wide, full-depth expansion joint is required between the driveway and intersecting public sidewalk paving.
G. 
A one (1) inch wide, full-depth expansion joint is required between the uphill side of the portion of driveway slab in-line with intersecting public sidewalk paving and additional driveway paving.
H. 
Portion of driveway above slab portions in-line with intersecting public sidewalk paving to be sloped for positive drainage towards roadway and not exceed a 3:20 ratio, i.e., fifteen percent (15%) slope. End of slab to be flush with garage floor slab.
I. 
A two (2) inch wide, full-depth expansion joint is required between the driveway slab and garage floor slab.
J. 
Provide control joints per best practices for driveway sizing.

A. 
Retaining walls are not permitted within right-of-way areas with less than ten (10) feet of separation from the edge of existing or proposed roadway pavement.
B. 
Retaining walls must propagate above the grade of adjacent roadways.
C. 
All trash enclosures shall be located outside of the right-of-way on private property.

Approval process will be done when building permit application is filled out. Blueprints/plans will be reviewed by Zoning Enforcement Officer and City Administrator. Inspection will be completed at the time of the occupancy inspection.
