The Judge of the Municipal Court shall be appointed by the Council
upon formal application, upon the basis of his/her qualifications,
and after a merit interview with the Council, to serve for a term
concurrent with the Council and until that person's successor
is appointed and qualified.
At the time of his appointment and during his term of office,
the Judge of the Municipal Court shall not be a member of any Town
or State central committee of any political party, and shall be barred
from contributing to any political candidate or party.
The salary of the Judge of the Municipal Court shall be determined
by the Town Council.
The Town Council shall determine all other matters related to
the Municipal Court, by ordinance, consistent with State law and the
provisions of this section.
