The Architectural Committee review shall only be applicable
to the DOD Downtown Okauchee Zoning District of the Waukesha County
Shoreland and Floodland Protection Ordinance.
The purpose of the Architectural Committee is to provide assistance
in reviewing and recommending on building and structure changes to
ensure that the community's property values are preserved and
to maintain uniformity throughout the Downtown Okauchee Area. The
Architectural Committee shall review the design and appearance of
buildings and structures to ensure the exterior of the buildings and
structures maintain high standards of architectural quality within
the Downtown Okauchee Area. The Architectural Committee shall protect
properties from impairment or destruction of value.
The Architectural Committee shall consist of three members appointed
by the Town Chairperson, subject to confirmation by the Town Board,
for two-year terms. The term of the members shall be established so
that two members are appointed in one year and the third member shall
be appointed in the alternate year with his/her initial appointment
for only a one-year term.
The Architectural Committee members shall not receive any compensation.
A.
The Architectural Committee shall have the right to review and make
recommendations to approve, deny, or approve with changes all plans
and specifications for any building or structure to be constructed,
modified, improved, replaced or altered. The Architectural Committee
shall review new buildings as well as exterior changes to existing
buildings, including additions, window or door changes, auxiliary
structures, roofs, awnings, siding and decks/patios.
B.
The Architectural Committee is a review and recommending body only
and has no authority to approve or deny a particular request. The
Town Plan Commission and/or Town Board shall consider the recommendations
of the Architectural Committee and may place conditions on any approvals
for compliance with one, two or all of the recommendations presented
by the Architectural Committee.
