A. 
The title of this chapter is "Town Offices."
B. 
The purpose of this chapter is to authorize the Town Board for the Town of Barton to appoint the offices of Town Clerk and Town Treasurer and to further authorize the Town Clerk and Town Treasurer to perform those duties required by statute and such other duties as the Town Board may require from time to time.
The Town Clerk and Town Treasurer positions shall be by appointment by a majority of the members-elect of the Town Board of the Town of Barton pursuant to § 60.10(1)(b)2m, Wis. Stats.
The Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed as necessary to appoint a Deputy Town Clerk pursuant to § 60.331, Wis. Stats. After taking and filing the official oath and bond, the Deputy Town Clerk shall perform the duties of the office under the direction of the Town Clerk. The Deputy Town Clerk shall be paid a salary that shall be established from time to time by the Town Board. The total annual salary paid in any one year shall not exceed the amount established by the Town Board.
The Town Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed as necessary to appoint a Deputy Town Treasurer pursuant to § 60.341, Wis. Stats. After taking and filing the official oath and bond, the Deputy Town Treasurer shall perform the duties of the office under the direction of the Town Treasurer. The Deputy Town Treasurer shall be paid a salary that shall be established from time to time by the Town Board. The total annual salary paid in any one year shall not exceed the amount established by the Town Board.
