A. 
It is determined to be in the public interest to charge and collect fees for the use of the Village tennis courts and pickleball courts in order to partially defray the cost of establishing and maintaining the same.
B. 
The Department of Parks and Recreation has, pursuant to the Administrative Code,[1] set forth a schedule of such fees to be so charged, as set forth in Chapter 145, Fees.

C. 
No person shall be permitted the use of the Village tennis courts or pickleball courts without a permit tag or badge to be displayed upon request, evidencing payment of the required fee.
D. 
The Village Manager and the Director of Parks and Recreation are hereby directed to provide for a system for application, registration, and collection of said fees and the issuance of permits therefor as quickly as possible.
E. 
Parks and Recreation and Board of Education sponsored programs on the courts take precedence over all other play.
F. 
Players must make a reservation to use the tennis courts and pickleball courts, which reservation shall commence play on the hour. Each household membership is limited to one hour reservation of play per day. At the end of the designated hour of play, players may continue to play only if there are no players waiting or no other reservation has been made. A court must be occupied by a minimum of two registered players.
G. 
Permitted hours.
(1) 
Posted playing hours for tennis courts are from 8:00 a.m. to dark, Sunday through Saturday.
(2) 
Posted playing hours for pickleball courts are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday; and from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. There shall be no pickleball play on Monday and Friday.
(3) 
The permitted hours and days of the week for tennis and pickleball play may be changed from time to time by resolution of the Village Council, with enforcement of same being done through this section.
H. 
Courts are to be used for tennis and pickleball only; no other use is permitted. roller-skating, skateboarding and bicycle riding on the courts are prohibited at all times.
I. 
Tennis shoes and sneakers must be worn while on the courts.
J. 
Pets are prohibited from being on the courts at all times.
K. 
Smoking, vaping, tobacco products, food and beverage are prohibited within the playing area.
L. 
Privately instructed lessons are prohibited on municipal tennis courts and pickleball courts at all times.
M. 
All pickleball players must use muted pickleballs and approved "Green Zone" paddles at all times.

A. 
No person shall hit, drive, putt or chip any golf ball or simulated golf ball in or upon any public park, playground, athletic field or public open space under the jurisdiction of the Village of Ridgewood.
B. 
The Village Manager of the Village of Ridgewood is hereby authorized to permit putting in certain specifically designated areas of public space owned or operated by the Village of Ridgewood under rules and regulations promulgated by the Village Manager and approved by resolution of the Village Council.

A. 
Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the following words shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:
PLAYGROUND
An outdoor area on public property provided for persons to play in or on, usually children.
PLAYING FIELDS
An outdoor field area or designed area or court on public property used for team or individual oriented games, events and recreation.
PLAYSCAPE
An outdoor area on public property with specifically designed and integrated play equipment, usually for children.
WALKING OR JOGGING PATH
An area, path, track or course that is set, designated or laid down for walking or jogging.
B. 
Dogs are hereby prohibited from all public playing fields, playgrounds and playscapes in the Village, and from the following public park areas or property: Pleasant Park, Veterans Memorial Park playing fields, open areas surrounding the walking or jogging path at Veterans Memorial Park, Citizens Park playing fields, Maple Park, and the open areas surrounding the Lester Stable. Dogs are also prohibited from all public tennis courts including those located at: Bellair Road, Glen School, North Monroe Street, Somerville School and Ridgewood High School, as well as from both Graydon Park and Graydon Pool.
C. 
Subject to Subsection B above, as it pertains to public parks with playing fields, playgrounds or playscapes, dogs shall only be permitted to be walked on leashes (with a leash no longer than six feet in length) with an adequate collar at the following parks: Citizens Park, Twinney Pond Park, Memorial Park at Van Neste Square, Leuning Park, Kings Pond Park, Veterans Memorial Park walking or jogging path, Irene Habernickel Family Park paved walking or jogging paths and on the trails, Schedler Property, Dunham Trail (open space area from Grove Street to Spring Avenue), Grove Park, Gypsy Pond Park (south of the Lakeview Compost Facility) and North Road Park. Any unidentified public park areas or property that are not included in Subsection B above or this Subsection C shall be subject to the regulations pertaining to playing fields, playgrounds or playscapes in Subsection B above.
