There is hereby established in and for the Borough of Kane a Board of Health to be composed of six members, at least one of whom shall be a physician of not less than two years' experience in the practice of his profession. The members of the said Board of Health shall be appointed by Council in the manner and for the terms, and shall severally take such oaths and shall organize, as prescribed under Article XXXI of the Borough Code (relating to "Health and Sanitation"), Act of February 1, 1966, 1965 P.L. 1656, No. 581, as amended, 53 P.S. § 48101 et. seq.
The Board of Health, as constituted and organized hereunder, shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as are now or hereafter may be conferred upon or prescribed for Boards of Health under Article XXXI of the Borough Code, as amended.
The Health Officer appointed by the Board shall receive such salary as may be fixed by the Board and ratified by the Council, but which shall not exceed $1,200 per year.
The appointed Health Officer shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as are or hereafter may be conferred upon or prescribed for local officers under the Borough Code,[1] as amended, and under any other state laws and regulations vesting powers and duties in local Health Officers.
