The Township of Tredyffrin shall continue as
a municipal corporation under the name "Township of Tredyffrin."
The township shall have and may exercise any
powers and perform any functions not denied by the Constitution of
Pennsylvania, the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
or this Charter.
All powers and functions contained in any and
all ordinances and resolutions which are in force on the effective
date of this Charter, and not inconsistent herewith, shall continue
in force until amended or repealed.
The powers of the township shall be liberally
construed in favor of the township in order to provide the township
with the greatest possible power of self-government.
All powers of the township, now in existence
or conferred on the township by the Constitution or the laws of the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, shall be exclusively vested in and exercised
by the Board of Supervisors, except as otherwise provided in this
Charter.
