Except when necessary to avoid conflict with
other traffic or to protect the safety of another person, or at the
direction of a police officer, no person in Falls Township shall stop,
stand or park a vehicle or any portion thereof:
A.
On or over any public sidewalk, nor should any portion
of any vehicle interfere with the free and unhindered use of the sidewalk
or apron thereof by pedestrians.
B.
Within an intersection.
C.
On a crosswalk.
D.
Upon any bridge or elevated structure.
E.
On any railroad track.
F.
On any median that separates a highway.
G.
On any publicly owned area that was not designed to
accommodate vehicles.
H.
At any place where signs prohibit parking, standing
or stopping.
I.
In front of any private or public driveway.
J.
Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
K.
Within 20 feet of a crosswalk.
L.
Within 30 feet upon the approach of a stop sign or
traffic signal located on the site of the roadway.
M.
On a limited-access highway, unless signs authorize
parking.
N.
With the right-hand wheels other than on the traveled
portion of the roadway of two lanes, and more than 12 inches from
the curb on a two-lane highway. If no curb exists, the right wheels
must remain on the traveled portion of the roadway closest to the
shoulder. Vehicle wheels shall not be allowed to be on or to straddle
any curb or curbline so as to allow only a portion of the vehicle
to remain on the roadway.
O.
Within any legally posted fire zone, either on a highway
or traffic way.
P.
Within a legally posted handicapped zone on private,
municipal or other property, either on a highway or traffic way, except
if the vehicle displays handicapped registration or severely disabled
veteran registration plates.
Q.
On the private property of another without the owner's
permission.
The speed limit for both directions of traffic
along the highways or parts thereof described below is hereby established
at the rate of speed indicated:

A.
The Township of Falls adopts an emergency optical
preemption system for use by emergency vehicles operating within the
Township of Falls.
B.
Any installation of new traffic control signals or
any upgrading of existing traffic control signals shall include the
emergency optical preemption system on streets and roads within the
Township designated by the Township Manager, with the advice of the
Fire Marshal and the Chief of Police.

C.
The Township shall notify the Pennsylvania Department
of Transportation (PennDOT) whenever PennDOT authorizes any improvements
to be made to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania roads and signals located
within the Township of Falls that an emergency optical preemption
system is in effect and request PennDOT to include the preemption
system on designated traffic signals.
D.
The emergency optical preemption system to be used
within the Township of Falls shall be that system adopted by PennDOT.

The following intersections described below are hereby established
as stop intersections. All official stop signs shall be erected in
such a position upon the first-named highway as to face traffic approaching
the second-named highway in the direction or directions indicated,
the second-named highways or streets being hereby designated as through
highways or streets. All vehicles and tractors approaching any such
intersection upon the first-named highway, in the direction or directions
indicated in each case, shall come to a full stop, within a reasonable
distance, before entering any such intersection:

established as yield right-of-way intersections, and official yield
signs shall be erected in such a position upon the first-named highway
as to face traffic approaching the second-named highway in the direction
or directions indicated. All vehicles and tractors approaching any
such intersection upon the first-named highway, in the direction or
directions indicated, shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle
in the intersection or approaching on the second-named highway so
closely as to constitute an inimediate hazard during the time that
the operator of such vehicle or tractor is moving across or within

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate,
park or leave unattended any vehicle or tractor except a passenger
vehicle (but not including any passenger vehicle pulling any trailer
or towing any other vehicle) upon any of the portions of the highways
described below; provided, however, that nothing herein shall prohibit
the operation of any commercial vehicle or tractor upon any highway
or portion thereof listed below where such operation thereon shall
be necessary in order to pick up or deliver any goods, wares, merchandise
or material from or to any premises located upon any such highway
or portion thereof:

any vehicle or tractor upon any highway in the Township that is under
construction, resurfacing or repair, in disregard of any official
sign, barricade or notice that the same is closed to vehicular traffic.

A.
The Chelsea Road Bridge shall be posted indicating
the weight limit of five tons, in accordance with the legal requirements
of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
C.
Pennsylvania Avenue, Fairless Hills, shall be posted
indicating a weight limit of four tons, except for emergency vehicles,
in accordance with the legal requirements of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

A.
Oak Lane Avenue between Trenton Road and Route One-Lincoln
Highway shall be posted with "Do not Enter" signs and "Local Traffic
Only" signs.
No vehicle shall be operated in a manner causing
the tires to make a squealing noise while accelerating.
The emission of excessive exhaust by any vehicle
operated on the highway as a result of a defective carburetor is hereby
prohibited.
A.
A "parade" or "procession" is defined as any movement
upon the highway of the Township involving more than 20 persons and/or
five automobiles.
B.
All persons desiring to conduct a parade and/or procession
are required to secure permission from the Township Manager. The Township
Manager should promptly notify the Chief of Police so that proper
arrangements can be made.
