This chapter shall be known and may be cited as "The Land Use Law" of the Town of Corinth, Saratoga County, New York.
Enactment of this chapter is pursuant to the enabling provisions of Articles 2 and 3 of the Municipal Home Rule Law and Article 16 of the Town Law and Article 27 of the Executive Law of the State of New York.
A. 
The purpose of this chapter is to promote the health, safety and general welfare of the community, to promote the rural character of the Town, to provide for a variety of housing opportunities and densities, and to protect the property values and aesthetics of the community. These goals are to be accomplished by regulating the height and size of buildings and other structures, the percentage of the lot that may be occupied, the size of the yards, courts and other open spaces, and the density of population, the location and use of buildings, structures and land for trade, industry, agriculture, residence and other purposes, to the extent permissible within the proper exercise of power delegated by the New York State Town Law.
B. 
It is the further purpose and objective of this chapter to ensure the optimum overall conservation, protection, development and use of the scenic, aesthetic, wildlife, recreational, open space, historic, ecological and natural resources of the Town.
