This article is adopted pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York and § 1660 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
The definitions contained in the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York shall apply to this article is all respects.
Any vehicle with a gross weight of over five tons is hereby excluded from traveling the Town road known as "Parish Road," which runs between New York State Route 33 (Buffalo Road) and the point where Parish Road crosses the Monroe County line (the boundary of the Town of Riga). This exclusion of vehicles shall take effect upon the erection of signs in accordance with § 1660 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law and shall remain in effect until the removal of said signs is directed by the Town Board of the Town of Riga. The Town Board may entertain applications for permits for appropriate exemptions from this exclusion in accordance with § 1660 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
A violation of this article shall constitute a traffic infraction and shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of § 1800 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
