For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply:
DEPARTMENT
The Shenandoah County Department of Parks and Recreation.
PARK AND RECREATION AREA
All land owned or leased by the Department or operated by the Department as a park or recreation area and open to the general public for park or recreation purposes.
The Shenandoah County Sheriff's Department is authorized to enforce the provisions of this chapter and all other applicable County and state laws within the limits of all parks or recreation areas.
A. 
Where a park or recreation area has posted hours, that area shall open and close according to the hours posted, unless otherwise permitted by the Department. Where hours are not posted, a park or recreation area shall customarily be open to the public from sunrise to sunset, unless otherwise permitted by the Department. No person shall enter or remain in any park or recreation area without proper authorization at any time other than allowed by this chapter.
B. 
Where a park or recreation area contains lighted ballfields, those lights shall be turned off no later than 11:00 p.m., unless otherwise permitted by the Department.
C. 
No unauthorized person shall enter any part of any park or recreation area which has been closed by the Department in the interest of public safety, health, or welfare.
No alcoholic beverages shall be permitted in any park or recreation area.
