New Law Requires Residents Trim Hedges and Trees at Intersections, State Roads A new town law sets standards for how residents who live along busy streets and intersections manage their property to maintain clean lines of sight for motorists and pedestrians. Keeping intersections clear of bushes and tree limbs that impair a person’s ability to see oncoming traffic is a best-practice promoted by the U.S. Department of Transportation, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials as well as many of Brentwood’s neighbors, including Riverdale Park, Takoma Park and Hyattsville.
