The purpose of this chapter is to reduce the danger of loss of life due to sudden impact with unmarked wires, cables and bars.
All wires, cables, bars or other devices intended to obstruct access to land within the Town of Fishkill which are installed or affixed across roads, driveways or entrances to private lands must be delineated by perpendicular reflective marking devices no less than 12 inches long by one inch wide, or by reflectors no smaller than four inches wide by 2 1/2 inches high, or by reflective sheathing along the entire length of the cable. All such marking devices, except for the sheathing, shall be fastened to the cable at no less than three-foot intervals and shall be of red or orange reflective material.
Failure to comply with § 104-2 of this chapter shall result in a fine of no less than $250 per incident.
The Town Zoning Administrator is hereby designated the enforcing officer.
