The provisions of this article shall apply except
when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other
traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or
official traffic control device.

The parking of vehicles is prohibited at all
times in those streets or parts of streets designated in the Book
of Resolutions.

A. The parking
of vehicles is hereby prohibited on all streets within the Village
of Lynbrook between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
B. The Mayor shall have the authority with the consent of the Village Board to suspend from time to time the provisions set forth in Subsection
A herein throughout the Village under such circumstances where it is deemed in the best interest of the Village residents.

The stopping and standing of vehicles is hereby
prohibited in the locations designated in the Book of Resolutions.
The parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited
in the locations described in Schedule XIV, on file in the Police
Department, during the times indicated.

The parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited
in the locations designated in the Book of Resolutions for a longer
period of time than that designated.
In accordance with § 1640-a of the
Vehicle and Traffic Law, traffic regulations shall be adopted for
shopping center parking lots upon receipt of a request, in writing,
by the owner thereof.

The locations designated in the Book of Resolutions
are hereby designated as loading zones, and the standing and parking
of vehicles is hereby prohibited in such locations except for the
express purpose of loading and unloading of merchandise, goods and
materials, and then only for a period not to exceed 10 minutes.

The locations designated in the Book of Resolutions
are hereby designated as bus stops, and the parking or standing of
vehicles other than buses is hereby prohibited in such locations.

The locations designated in the Book of Resolutions
are hereby designated as taxi stands, and the standing or parking
of vehicles other than taxis is hereby prohibited in such locations.
Taxis using such stands shall not be left unattended and shall be
subject to all other vehicle and traffic regulations of the Village.

A. It shall be unlawful for any owner or driver to park
a truck or other commercial vehicle or equipment for hire, including
an omnibus or taxicab, in or upon any street, roadway or public highway
within the Village of Lynbrook during the hours of each day for more
than two consecutive hours, except, however, that this section shall
not apply to nor prohibit the stopping, standing or parking of authorized
emergency vehicles, public utilities or contractors' vehicles while
engaged in the repair, maintenance, inspection or construction of
streets or utilities within the village and contractors' or workmen's
vehicles while those contractors or workmen are engaged in providing
services to a resident or merchant within the village.
B. For the purposes of this chapter, the term "commercial vehicle" is defined as provided in §
252-2B.

C. Any person convicted of a violation of the provisions of §
240-26.1 of this article, notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, shall, for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $250; for a second or subsequent conviction within six months after the first conviction, such person shall be punished by a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $500.
