A. 
The Traffic Supervisor, who shall be the Chief of Police, or his designee shall exercise the powers and duties with respect to traffic as provided in this chapter.
B. 
It shall be the general duty of the City Traffic Supervisor to determine the installation and proper timing and maintenance of traffic control devices, to plan the operation of traffic on the streets and highways of this City and to cooperate with other City officials in the development of ways and means to improve traffic conditions and to carry out the additional powers and duties imposed by ordinances of this City.
A. 
The Mayor, upon recommendation of the City Traffic Supervisor, is hereby empowered to make temporary or experimental regulations to cover emergencies or special conditions. No such temporary or experimental regulation shall remain in effect for more than 60 days.
B. 
Such temporary or experimental regulations shall be in writing and directed to the Police Department, a copy of which shall be filed with the City Clerk. Upon receipt of such written regulations, the City Traffic Supervisor is hereby authorized to and shall install official traffic control devices which shall properly advise the public of such temporary or experimental regulations.
