Inland wetlands and watercourses regulations — See Ch. 158.
Effective July 1, 1988, the authority previously given to the Tolland Planning and Zoning Commission pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes Section 22a-42(c), to promulgate such regulations as said section authorizes necessary to protect the wetlands and watercourses within the territorial limits of the Town of Tolland is rescinded.
Effective April 5, 1988, there is hereby created pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes Section 22a-42(c), a Tolland Inland Wetlands Commission (hereinafter the "Wetlands Commission"); provided, however, that the Wetlands Commission shall only have authority to organize itself, establish procedures and draft regulations between March 26, 1988, and July 1, 1988, and then on July 1, 1988, and thereafter, the Wetlands Commission shall promulgate such regulations, in conformity with the regulations promulgated by the State of Connecticut Commissioner of Environmental Protection pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes Section 22a-39, as are necessary to protect the wetlands and watercourses within the territorial limits of the Town of Tolland,[1] it being the intent of the timing of this chapter to establish an orderly transition of authority for inland wetlands issues from the Tolland Planning and Zoning Commission to the Tolland Inland Wetlands Commission on July 1, 1988.

The Wetlands Commission shall consist of five regular members and two alternate members, which members shall be appointed by the Tolland Town Council by a vote of a majority of its members.
All regular and alternate members may be removed at any time, with or without cause, by a majority vote of the Tolland Town Council.
All regular and alternate members shall serve terms of two years or until 60 days following a Town Council election, whichever first occurs.
Regular and alternate member vacancies shall be filled by appointment by a majority vote of the Town Council.
