A. 
It shall be the duty of the owner or owners of any residence, or principal building as defined in the Borough of Emsworth Zoning Ordinance,[1] now erected or hereafter erected within the Borough of Emsworth to display and maintain, in close proximity to the door facing the street, the address identification number assigned by the Borough.

If said principal building or residence is not in close proximity to the roadway, or visible from the roadway, said address signs shall be posted at the entrance to the driveway to the premises.
A. 
Said address signs shall be in Arabic numerals, consisting of block numbers of a minimum height of 3 1/2 inches, on a white background. The size of said sign shall comply with the provisions of Article VI, Signs, of the Zoning Ordinance, as amended.[1]

B. 
Regardless of the type of posting utilized, the address sign must be clearly visible from the street for identification by emergency vehicles, and the view of said address sign from the street shall not be obstructed by vegetation, trees, or any other object, and must be maintained in such condition.
All currently erected residences and principal buildings must be in compliance with this chapter within 90 days of the receipt of notice from the Borough of Emsworth of the address identification number assigned to said property. Any structures hereafter erected within the Borough must display and maintain the proper address sign and identification number prior to the issuance of an occupancy permit by the Borough.
Any owner or occupant who shall violate or fail, neglect or refuse to comply with any provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof by any District Justice or other court of competent jurisdiction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 for each offense, plus costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment not to exceed 30 days. It is further provided that each day's violation following notice of violation by the police or Zoning Officer shall constitute a separate offense.
In the event that any owner or occupant shall neglect or refuse to comply with such notice, the Borough may post an address identification number of the premises and collect the cost thereof, together with any additional penalties authorized in this chapter.
