The City of Festus was incorporated on February 8, 1887, as
a Fourth Class City. Its status was changed to that of a Third Class
City in 1923.

The boundaries of the City are as now constituted and shown
by records in the County Recorder's office and records of the City.

The Seal of the City shall be in circular form, the words "City
of Festus, Jefferson County, Missouri" shall be engraved around the
edges and the word "Seal" in Roman capitals in the center, such seal
to be about one and three-fourths (1¾) inches in diameter.
