The Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code ("MPC") authorizes
the Borough to prepare and adopt an Official Map of the Borough of
Mount Joy showing existing and proposed public streets, public grounds,
public parks, public playgrounds and open space reservations. In order
to implement the Donegal Region Comprehensive Plan (the "Comprehensive
Plan") and the recommendations of the Mount Joy Borough Planning Commission,
the Borough has identified potential future recreation areas and planned
wastewater and road improvements. The adoption of an Official Map
will assist the Borough in the implementation of the Comprehensive
Plan and will assist landowners in the determination of uses and development
of their lands within the Borough. The Borough has solicited the reviews
of the Mount Joy Borough Planning Commission, Lancaster County Planning
Commission, and the adjoining municipalities and the Donegal School
District of the proposed Official Map. Following receipt of the comments
and recommendations of such bodies, the Mount Joy Borough Council
has held a public hearing in accordance with the requirements of Article
IV of the MPC.[1]

The Mount Joy Borough Council hereby adopts the Official Map
prepared by Lancaster County GIS Department which shall consist of
the one attached sheet, entitled "Mount Joy Borough Official Map."[1]

The proper officials of the Borough of Mount Joy are authorized
to take all steps necessary to record the Official Map in the Office
of the Recorder of Deeds in and for Lancaster County, Pennsylvania,
as required by Section 402(c) of the MPC. The proper officials of
the Borough of Mount Joy are further authorized to transmit certified
copies of the Official Map to those entities required to be provided
with copies by the MPC.
Any amendments of the Official Map shall be made in a manner
consistent with Article IV of the MPC, as amended.
The provisions of Article IV of the MPC, as amended, are hereby
incorporated by reference to govern the effect of the adoption of
the Official Map, issuance of permits and approvals for land reserved
on the Official Map, and all other matters relating to the Official
Map.
