The Borough Council of the Borough of Dormont hereby creates a Recreation Board to be hereafter known as the "Recreation Board of the Borough of Dormont." This Board is created pursuant to the provisions of 8 Pa.C.S.A. § 2708.

The Recreation Board of the Borough of Dormont shall consist of seven or nine persons, all of whom shall be residents of the Borough of Dormont.
A. 
Each member of the Recreation Board of the Borough of Dormont shall be appointed by the Borough Council and shall serve for a term of five years. The first members of the Recreation Board of the Borough of Dormont shall be appointed for terms of office as herein set forth:
(1) 
One member whose term of office shall expire on January 1, 1996.
(2) 
One member whose term of office shall expire on January 1, 1995.
(3) 
One member whose term of office shall expire on January 1, 1994.
(4) 
Two members whose terms of office shall expire on January 1, 1993.
(5) 
Two members whose terms of office shall expire on January 1, 1992.
B. 
Subsequent to the original appointments hereinabove set forth, all appointments shall thereafter be for a term of five years.
C. 
Vacancies in the Recreation Board of the Borough of Dormont occurring other than by expiration of term shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as original appointments.
The Recreation Board of the Borough of Dormont shall have the power to make recommendations to the Borough Council regarding the operation and maintenance of recreation places and recreation programs within the Borough of Dormont and shall possess all of the powers and be subject to all of the responsibilities which may now or hereafter be given to recreation boards under the terms and provisions of the Borough Code.[1]

The Borough Council of the Borough of Dormont may from time to time adopt rules and regulations for the regulation of conduct, the issuance of permits and other matters connected with the operation and administration of the parks and recreation areas of the Borough.[1]
