There is hereby created and established the office of "Humane Officer" in and for the City of Tipton, Missouri, for the purpose of impounding dogs, cats and other domestic pets found running at large or which are suspected of or have been found to have rabies or any other infectious disease as prescribed in Article I of this Chapter.

Said Humane Officer shall care for dogs, cats and other domestic pets, which have been impounded or if the owner or owners shall not have taken care of said animal as prescribed in Article I of this Chapter, then said Humane Officer shall be empowered to destroy said animal as prescribed in Article I of this Chapter.

Said Humane Officer shall be allowed a fee for care of impounded animals; and a fee for each animal he/she has to destroy. Said fees shall be set by the Board of Alderpersons, as the need arises.
