[Adopted 10-6-1992 by Res. No. 92-R-79 (Ch. 1, Part 8B, of the 1995 Code
of Ordinances)]
[Amended 10-8-2019 by Ord. No. 2019-O-10; 10-25-2022 by Ord. No. 2022-O-10]
A. Warrington Township currently has two pension plans, a Uniform Pension
Plan and a Non-Uniform Pension Plan. Both plans require a committee
to review, consider and advise the Board of Supervisors on all matters
which shall come before it regarding the Township's pension plans
including, but not limited to, provisions and benefits, the funding
thereof, investment and reinvestment of the pension fund, issues of
administration and payment of benefits. The Board of Supervisors hereby
establishes one Pension Committee to advise it with regard to both
pension plans. The Committee shall consist of nine members, including
one nonvoting member for each pension plan. The Pension Committee
representatives shall be appointed annually by the Board of Supervisors
and from time to time as necessary to fill any vacancy which shall
arise. The Pension Committee shall consist of the following nine individuals:
(1) Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors.
(2) One member from the Board of Supervisors.
(3) Warrington Township Manager.
(4) Warrington Township CFO/Finance Director.
(5) One member and one alternate member of the Warrington Township Police
Benevolent Association. (This member will vote only on issues involving
the Uniform Pension Plan.)
(6) One non-uniformed Township employee. (This member will vote only
on issues involving the Non-Uniform Pension Plan.)
(7) Three citizens of the Township.
B. In conducting its business, the Committee will hold separate votes
with regard to recommendations for each pension plan. A roll call
vote will be taken on each motion so that the minutes clearly indicate
each individual member's vote. The member from the Warrington
Police Department will not vote on matters affecting the Non-Uniform
Pension Plan and the non-uniformed employee will not vote on matters
affecting the Uniform Pension Plan. A tie vote by the members of the
Committee shall result in the failure of the pending motion to pass.
