As used in this Article the following term shall have the meaning
indicated:
FOWL
Shall include any chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guineas
or peacocks (peafowl).

A. No
roosters, toms, ganders, drakes or cocks of any species of fowl are
to be kept within the City.
B. No
guineas or peacocks (peafowl) shall be kept within the City.
C. It
shall be unlawful to engage in breeding fowl or fertilizer production
for commercial purposes within the City.
D. All fowl must be kept in an enclosure or fenced area at all times. Any fowl not in an enclosure or fenced area shall be deemed at large pursuant to Section
205.040 of this Code.
E. Fowl
shall be secured within a henhouse, coop, or chicken tractor during
non-daylight hours.
F. All fowl shall be provided with access to clean water at all times and fed in a manner that is adequate for the type of fowl being kept. Owners of fowl who fail to provide clean water and adequate food shall be deemed guilty of violating Section
205.280 (Animal Neglect) of this Code.

The minimum required space for all fowl shall be two (2) to
three (3) square feet per fowl inside of any henhouse or coop and
eight (8) to ten (10) square feet per fowl in an outdoor enclosure.

The exterior limits of any henhouse, coop, tractor, or any enclosure
where fowl are kept and the exterior limits of the nearest dwelling,
church, school, or business shall be no less than fifty (50) feet.

A. The
ground or floor of any shelter or enclosure where fowl are kept shall
be cleaned regularly. All waste, manure and litter shall be removed
from the shelter or enclosure as to minimize the hazard of disease
and to minimize odor. All such shelters and enclosures shall be sprayed
with disinfectant or insecticide which is appropriate to the fowl.
B. All
waste, manure, litter, and uneaten food shall be kept in a container
or receptacle of such a type that when closed it is mice and rat-proof,
and fly-proof.
