This article is adopted pursuant to the authority granted by
§ 3-301, Subdivision (2)(a), of the Village Law.
The office of Village Justice for the Village of Clayton, Jefferson
County, New York, is and shall be abolished upon the expiration of
the current term of such office on November 30, 2022.
This article is adopted subject to a permissive referendum and
shall take effect upon the expiration of the referendum period or,
in the event a referendum is called, upon the affirmative vote of
a majority of those voting in such referendum, and the subsequent
filing of this article with the Department of State.[1]
