Chapter 580, Signage, of the Code of the City of Monroe, is hereby updated, amended, and restated in its entirety as set forth in the attached document entitled "Signage 2023 – City of Monroe, Michigan."[1]

A. 
If a court of competent jurisdiction shall declare any part of this chapter to be invalid, such ruling shall not affect any other provisions of this chapter not specifically included in said ruling.
B. 
All proceedings pending and all rights and liabilities existing, acquired or incurred at the time this chapter takes effect are saved and may be consummated according to the law in force when they are/were commenced.
All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or sections of the Code of the City of Monroe in conflict with this chapter are repealed only to the extent necessary to give this chapter full force and effect.
The provisions of this chapter are hereby declared to be necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare of the people of the City of Monroe and are hereby ordered to be given effect 20 days after passage and publication.
