This Part shall be known as the "Hopewell Township Property Maintenance Code."

Certain documents, three copies of which are filed in the office of the Township of Hopewell, being marked and designated as the International Property Maintenance Code, 2018 Edition, as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted by the Township of Hopewell for regulating and governing the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures; by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use; and the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and use, and the demolition of such existing structures as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of such International Property Maintenance Code, 2018 Edition, on file in the office of the Township of Hopewell, are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this Part, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any prescribed in § 5-203 below.

Section 101.1 - Insert "Hopewell Township."

Section 103.1 - Add the following sentence: "The term 'code official' shall include the codes enforcement officer, zoning officer, township manager, public works director, roadmaster, any designated assistant or alternate of any of the foregoing, any police officer with jurisdiction in the Township, or any other officer of the Township designated thereby by resolution of the Board of Supervisors."

Section 103.5. - Insert "The fee schedule shall be set by resolution of the Hopewell Township Board of Supervisors."

Section 106.4 - Amended and restated as follows:
"Violation penalties. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this Part, upon conviction thereof in an action brought before a magisterial district judge in the manner provided for the enforcement of summary offenses under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs and reasonable attorney fees incurred by the Township in the enforcement proceeding and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 90 days. Each day that a violation of this Part continues or each section of this Part which shall be found to have been violated shall constitute a separate offense."

Section 112.4 - Insert $100 in the first blank and $1,000 in the second blank.

Section 302.4. This section is deleted in its entirety. Refer to Code of Ordinances, Chapter 10, Part 1, "Weed Control."
