[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village
of East Hills 9-12-1983 by L.L. No. 1-1983 as Ch. 17 of the 1983
Code; amended in its entirety 1-21-1997 by L.L. No. 3-1997. Subsequent amendments
noted where applicable.]
It is the intent and policy of the Village of East Hills to
protect its officers and employees pursuant to the provisions of § 18
of the Public Officers Law of the State of New York.
The Village of East Hills agrees to confer the benefits of the
aforesaid § 18 of the Public Officers Law of the State of
New York upon the officers and employees of the Village and to be
held liable for the costs incurred under the provisions of § 18
of the Public Officers Law.
The implementation of this chapter shall be in accordance with
all of the terms and provisions of § 18 of the Public Officers
Law, and the Village and its officers and employees shall be controlled
by the provisions contained within such law.
