A. 
Penalties for traffic infractions. Every person convicted of a traffic infraction for a violation of any provision of this chapter, other than Article V through Article IX, and which is not a violation of any provision of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York shall, for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; for a second such conviction within 18 months thereafter, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $200 or by imprisonment for not more than 45 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; upon a third or subsequent conviction within 18 months after the first conviction, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $300 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
B. 
Penalties for parking infractions; violations of Article V through Article IX.
(1) 
Any person violating the provisions of Article V, Parking Regulations, shall be liable to a penalty of up to $50 but not less than $25 for each violation.
(2) 
Any person violating the provisions of Article VI, Parking-by-Permit-Only Areas, shall be liable to a penalty of $50 for each violation.
(3) 
Any person violating the provisions of Article VII, Parking on Private Property, shall be liable to a penalty of up to $50 but not less than $25 for each violation.
(4) 
Any person violating the provisions of Article VIII, Parking Lots, shall be liable to a penalty up to $50 but not less than $25 for each violation, except for violations of § 215-24A, Fire zones, and § 215-24B, Handicapped parking spaces, which shall be liable to a minimum penalty of $250 for each violation.
(5) 
Any person violating the provisions of § 215-26, Seasonal tow-away zones, or § 215-27, Continual tow-away zones, of Article IX shall be liable to a penalty of $100 for each violation.

Pursuant to the Village Law and the Vehicle and Traffic Law, the Board of Trustees is hereby authorized to adopt traffic and parking regulations, including amendments of existing regulations contained in Chapter 215, by resolution (without notice or hearing), rather than by local law. Such regulations shall be adopted with reference to the appropriate section of this chapter and shall become part of this chapter.
