A. 
No person shall operate any commercial vehicle, as hereinafter defined, on the following roadways within the Town of Guilford, except while on a trip with a point of origin from or designation on said roadways or side roads off of said roadways:
(1) 
County Road.
(2) 
Elm Street.
(3) 
Hoop Pole Road (between Route 80 on the south and Route 77 on the north).
(4) 
Long Hill Road (north of Route 80).
(5) 
Great Hill Road.
(6) 
Hemlock Road.
(7) 
North River Street.
(8) 
Park Street.
B. 
All commercial vehicles wishing to proceed to designations other than the first six roads listed above and side roads therefrom shall use Route 80 or Route 77, subject to such state restrictions as may exist. Alternate routes for North River Street and Park Street shall be Route 77 and Whitfield Street, respectively.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE
Any vehicle designed or used for the transportation of property, merchandise, freight or employees of the owner, whose body weight or whose combined body and load weight exceeds 10,000 pounds. School buses and refuse trucks making stops along said roads shall not be considered commercial vehicles for purposes of this article.

The Guilford Board of Police Commissioners, acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority for the Town of Guilford, shall cause to be installed appropriate signs pursuant to state law on the roadways listed in § 259-4 hereof prohibiting such commercial vehicle through traffic.
Any person violating the terms of this article shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $100 for each such violation.
