A. 
As provided in § C3-3 of the Charter of the Town of Indian Head, there is hereby created a board known as the "Board of Supervisors of Elections." The qualifications, appointment, removal, term and duties of office of the members are established in § C3-3A, B and C of the Charter. These §§ 43-1 and § 43-2 do not apply if the Town Council, as authorized by § C3-3D of the Charter, determines not to appoint a Board of Supervisors of Elections.

If, as authorized by § C3-3D of the Charter of the Town of Indian Head, the Town Council determines to have the duties and responsibilities of the Board of Supervisors of Elections to be carried out by the Charles County Board of Elections with the assistance of such staff as determined by the Charles County Board, references in this chapter to the "Board of Supervisors of Elections" shall mean the Charles County Board of Elections.
A. 
The Town Council shall appoint two substitute members to the Board of Supervisors of Elections. The terms of office for the substitute members will be the same as for the Board of Supervisors of Elections.
B. 
Before entering upon the duties of the office, substitute members of the Board shall each take and subscribe to the oath quoted below, which oath shall be taken before and duly recorded by the Town Clerk within 20 days of their appointment.
Oath: "I, _______________________, do swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the State of Maryland and support the Constitution and laws thereof and to the Town Charter of Indian Head and that I will, to the best of my skill and judgment, diligently and faithfully, without partiality or prejudice, execute the office of Board of Supervisors of Elections according to the Constitution and the laws of the state."
