There is hereby created the office of Deputy City Clerk in the City of Margate City, New Jersey. The Deputy City Clerk shall be appointed by the Board of Commissioners for a term of three years.
A. 
The Deputy City Clerk shall assist the City Clerk in the performance of the duties of the City Clerk in the keeping of accurate minutes of the proceedings of the Board of Commissioners and in the performance of all duties required of the office of the City Clerk by statutes of the State of New Jersey and the ordinances of the City of Margate City and as may be required by the Board of Commissioners from time to time.
B. 
The Deputy City Clerk shall perform all of the duties required of the office of the City Clerk by the statutes of the State of New Jersey and the ordinances of the City of Margate City and shall have all of the powers of said City Clerk during such times and for such specific periods as the City Clerk shall be absent from his office.
A surety company bond shall be provided for the Deputy City Clerk for faithful performance of duty as provided by law.
