The office of Safety Coordinator is hereby created, whose duties shall be to inspect all City-owned properties and equipment, to advise the Board of Commissioners and the various departments of the City, and the officers and employees thereof having supervision or who are in charge of said properties or equipment, of any dangerous or unsafe conditions existing therein and to recommend what should be done to correct such dangerous or unsafe conditions in order to protect persons employed by the City, or the public in general, from injuries or accidents resulting from such unsafe or hazardous conditions.
Said Safety Coordinator shall be appointed for a term of one year from the date of his appointment and shall receive such compensation as shall be set forth in the annual Salary Ordinance.
